Privacy policy
LAST UPDATED: 16 AUGUST 2026
This policy covers the quickmappro.com website — what it measures, what it stores in your browser, and how to switch that off.
1. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us things like how many people visited a page, roughly where in the world they were, and which site sent them. We have turned off Google’s advertising features: there is no ad personalisation, no remarketing and no Google Signals, and analytics data is never sold or shared for advertising.
Analytics do not run until you accept them. This is stricter than the common setup: the Google script is not merely told to hold back, it is never requested at all until you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, no request to Google is ever made from your visit.
If you accept and later change your mind, choosing Reject in Cookie preferences switches analytics off and deletes the analytics cookies already in your browser — withdrawing consent removes the identifier rather than just stopping new measurements.
2. Cookies
Two kinds, and only two:
| Cookie | Kind | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
qm_consent |
Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so you are not asked on every page. Set by us; never sent to anyone else. | 6 months |
qm_session |
Essential | Signs administrators in to the private admin area. Only ever set if you log in there; ordinary visitors never receive it. | Session |
_ga, _ga_* |
Analytics | Google Analytics uses these to tell one visit from another. Only set after you accept, and deleted if you withdraw. | Up to 2 years |
There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies and no third-party cookies of any other kind on this site.
3. Web fonts
Being straight about one thing that is easy to overlook: the site’s typefaces are served by Google Fonts, and that request happens on every page load, before and regardless of any analytics choice. It sets no cookies and sends no information about you beyond what any web request necessarily reveals — your IP address and browser — but it is a request to Google, so we would rather say so than let “nothing goes to Google until you accept” stand as a broader claim than it is. It applies to the fonts, not to analytics: analytics genuinely send nothing until you accept.
4. Server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard technical logs (IP address, page requested, time, browser) for security and reliability. These exist whether or not you accept analytics, because a web server cannot serve a page without them.
5. The testing programme
If you have been invited to test QuickMap PRO, the testing pages record the name you enter, the results you submit and any feedback you write, so we can act on it. That area is invite-only and is not part of the public site. Tell us and we will delete your entries.
6. Who else is involved
- Google — website analytics, only after you accept; and the web fonts described above.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Supabase — stores entries from the testing programme.
7. Your rights, and the legal basis
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used.
Analytics run on consent, and consent alone. That is the only legal basis we rely on for them, which is why nothing loads until you choose. You can withdraw at any time through Cookie preferences, and withdrawing is as easy as accepting was. Withdrawing does not affect measurements already taken before you withdrew.
Essential cookies and server logs rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure.
8. Contact

9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what we collect will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.
